'Tis the season

I love fall. I love September, specifically. I love being able to sleep with my windows open.

I love College football. Specifically, BYU football.

Last week Will and I were playing a game. It was his idea. He told me to ask him a question about myself to see if he could answer it. He got several right until I asked him this: "Why do I love BYU football?" I think he guessed "because you like fall", and "because you thought Ty Detmer's accent was studly" before he finally got it right. The correct answer is because my mom loves BYU football. And because there was a local TV station in Las Vegas growing up that carried the games.

And so every fall Saturday from about 6th grade on had a BYU football game on TV. My mom was the one who explained to me what a first down is. I wish she had explained something more about what a block in the back is, or what a fade route is, because there is a lot of football jargon that I still don't understand. Regardless, I enjoy watching the games. A lot. And even though it takes a bit more work to watch the games these days (thanks to CSTV and the Mtn.) I still prefer my fall Saturdays to include a little Cougar football.

My idea of a perfect day is made up of basically 4 things: (1) It's September. (2) My house is sparkling clean. (3) My windows are open and a pleasant breeze is blowing. (4) There is a BYU football game on.

Caramel apples to much on are an added bonus.
