It was great! I want to have another one next week!
Our first stop was at the IHOP for a giant funny-face chocolate pancake. After glutting ourselves on that, we hopped on over to the Kangaroo Zoo. (Get it? Hopped? Stop rolling your eyes at me, Marie.)
We paid the extra for me to play, too, and I was surprised by two things. #1: How much fun it was, and #2, how much of a workout it was! It almost made me not regret the chocolate pancake. We stayed there for a couple of hours, and I'm pretty sure we spent a solid 45 minutes going down the giant slide over and over again. We had the place to ourselves for the first hour or so, since we got there right when it opened.

Once we mostly me got tired out from all the kangarooing, we went and got our fingernails painted. I told Jacey she could choose any color she wanted, and she choose hot pink. The girl was really nice and put some sparkles on them, too.

The plan at this point was to hit the dollar movie. But when we got there, I saw that Ratatouille doesn't get there until next week. So we skipped the movie and went to Costco for lunch (her choice.) We did a little shopping and then headed over to the park.
Jacey only actually requested two things to do on Mommy-Jacey day, and this was one of them. So we spent a good long time at the park.

Somewhere around this time Jacey said to me, "Mommy, do you want to come play with me instead of taking so many pictures?" So needless to say, this is the last of the photos of the day. We stopped at BYU to return something, then headed home. We stopped at the park by our house for a few minutes, but it was cold and windy so we didn't stay long. We popped some popcorn when we got home and played Candyland and Sorry. (Her other request.) By the time we were done with those it was bedtime. And she was so tired and worn out, she didn't even protest (much).
The great thing about the day was that I had nothing else to do but pay attention to Jacey. That was my one and only goal. No time constraints, no rushing to the next thing. When she was slow getting in the car, I could just wait. When she took 4x as long as a normal person to eat lunch, I could just wait. And talk to her, and listen to what she had to say. (Which, like usual, was a lot.)
I had a great time. She really is a fun kid to hang out with. We'll definitely be having Mommy-Jacey day again.
PS- thanks for all the birthday wishes! I had a great day. Will spoils me. We had a nice lunch and a relaxing afternoon at home. I treated myself to some candy corn and gave myself a tummy ache. :)

That sounds like so much fun! I really need to make more time to do things like this with my girls.
I so love this idea. I was telling Tom about it and how I want to do this with Reese when she gets a little older. What a cute mom! I bet she LOVED it!
