Photos from last week

On Thursday Jacey had preschool at Caitlin's house. I've mentioned before what a craft goddess Emily is. Well she sent home some extra crafts that Jacey couldn't wait to paint. She broke down in tears when I told her I couldn't find the paint brushes. Luckily, we found them in Londyn's room and peace & harmony was restored to the world. They did "Z" for Zoo, and check out these cool finger puppet zoo animals Emily did. Craft goddess I tell you.

Will came home around lunch time on Friday and worked the rest of the day from home while I listened to a vacuum salesman for 2 1/2 hours. A small price to pay for a free carpet cleaning that my front room desperately needed. And hey, if I had an extra 2K sitting around, I might just have bought his monster NASA-designed vacuum cleaner. I digress. My point was that Will was home when the girls woke up from their naps, so we went to the park to fly his kite and play. The 75 mph winds didnt' get here until Saturday, so it was a perfect day for it. Jacey apparently finds kite-flying quite relaxing. (Actually, she had seen me doing this about 5 minutes before. Will came over and took the kite away from me because he thought I was going to fall asleep and lose it. Meanie. )

On Saturday we packed a picnic and went to this park in Pleasant Grove that Will had been telling me about. He'd played tennis there before and he said they had this cool castle play area that he thought the girls would dig. Right about the time we got there was when the winds started picking up, but not terribly bad yet. Just windy. So we had our windy picnic and then played on the toys. It is a pretty awesome play area, but man were there a lot of kids there. I think we'll have to go back sometime when school is in session and see if it's not so crowded.

They had these little Beehives with chairs inside them which the girls thought were cool. There were 3 I think, one said Queen Bee and one said Worker Bee, and I didn't look in the third to see what it said.

Londyn didn't do so well in nursery again yesterday. I really think she'd do better if it wasn't right smack dab in the middle of nap time. So I stayed in there for the first hour and Will went in with her during the second hour. I think she'll do fine once she gets comfortable, and if we can get her to nap during Sacrament meeting. (Fingers crossed.)

Where to begin. So many cool pictures! Teach me your ways! My favorite is of Will and the girls walking with the kite but I also really like the clouds in the picture of the kite by itself. It's almost like you're in photobootcamp or something.

I always love your pictures, Cynthia. You should seriously consider going into business. Did you have the Kirby vacuum guy come over? Right before we sold our first house, they came and advertised a free carpet cleaning, and we really needed it to help our house look better to sell. At the end when we didn't buy one, the kid gave us this guilt trip about how he hadn't sold a vacuum that month and he really was hoping we would buy one. I'm so sure - if I had $2000, I would not use it to buy a vacuum. And $60 a month payment plan? Yeah right - $60 a month would buy me some good cable with movie channels even.

Corby - you would be so proud of me - I took all of my pictures this weekend in . . . drumroll please . . . manual! And I even set a custom white balance for the ones of Jacey painting. Go me, go me.

Emily - you guessed it, it was a Kirby salesman. And he was brand new and it showed. I felt bad for him, not because I didn't buy a vacuum from him but because he had that sucky job in the first place. Then his boss or whoever comes over trying to "get me a crazy deal." I just flat out told him I don't buy anything on credit and I don't have that kind of cash, period. (I didn't go into all of the other things I would buy first if I DID have that kind of cash to throw around.) Then he gives me "So you buy your cars with cash? So you bought this house with cash." Yadda yadda yadda. Listen pal, I didn't ask you to come - you asked me if you could come in, remember? Grrrrr.

We love that park. Clara has a couple field trips there every year. I finally figured out where it is so we can go back (I almost always follow the bus there). You are such a great mom and do the funnest things with your girls!

I think I went to that park a couple years ago during spring break . . . it was crazy, but the kids still loved it. I do not know why I have never gone back.
I love the kite pictures too, too bad it is snowing today! Urg! This Spring weather gets to me sometimes.

Cute pictures. That kite looks like so much fun to fly. I am so glad you found the paint brushes so that Jacey could paint her craft.
