The kindergarten classes at Londyn’s school have been working hard for a long time on their annual Operetta. This year’s performance was “Peter Pan.” This week was the big performance - they did a daytime performance for the whole school (which Jacey described as “pretty awesome”), and an evening performance for families.
Londyn was a Pirate Singer and a narrator. She was so excited to get to perform, and equally excited that her Grandparents could come. She did an awesome job! She learned her lines perfectly and all of the songs by heart. And it was helpful that she was a head taller than most of the other students, so we could see her over all the other mom’s and dad’s heads. :)
Londyn looks so . . . grown up to me lately. And seeing her up there on stage kind of confirmed it. It’s always a little bit surreal when I see my kids demonstrating things that I had no part in teaching them. It’s another little piece of evidence that they are out of my care for so much of their day, and are learning so many things that I’m not a part of. It’s bittersweet. But mostly sweet. I love that Londyn is becoming a big kid – learning and growing and changing. And although I wouldn’t mind if she never grew up (a la Peter Pan), it is still fun for me to see the spunky, smart, funny little girl she is turning into.

I was thinking the same thing looking through these pictures--she looks SO much older all of a sudden! And I can't believe that play. This is just more evidence of how not so great our schools are here. I can't even imagine Reese having the opportunity for anything like that. That's dang impressive!
I can tell she was such a good pirate! So fun!
