It feels like there has been a lot going on lately. With the end of the school year both Jacey and Londyn had events going on in their classes, and we've had some family happenings too. A quick recap:
Jacey's class had a program showcasing some of the things they've been learning about this year. It was stinking adorable. And I was seriously impressed with how well the children knew their songs and speaking parts. They were certainly well prepared. But even more impressive was how much fun they all were having with it. They did a great job.
Jacey with her AMAZING teachers this year. She had a fantastic year and I can't say enough good about both Mrs. Arnold (left) and Mrs. Meacham (right). Mrs. Arnold will be moving up and teaching second grade next year . . . could we get so lucky?? Let's keep our fingers crossed. (Jacey has been making a list of things she could do to bribe the principal - weed her garden, wash her car, etc. Can you tell she really loves her teacher?)
Next event: Londyn's preschool graduation. Londyn misses the deadline for kindergarten this year by less than two weeks, so she'll have another year of what she is calling "Senior Preschool," starting in the Fall. But she graduated from "Junior Preschool" at the end of May.
Yep - her favorite thing about preschool is the food. Definitely my daughter.
I'm not entirely sure Londyn realized that she had another year of preschool. After her graduation she said something about me being sad when I have to take her to Fox Hollow (Jacey's school) and I wondered if she thought she was going to Kindergarten now. But we talked about another year of preschool and she is excited to back to Miss Dawn for one more year. ("And Blake will be in my class still too!")
A little side note: Londyn is, as I type, crying to herself in her bedroom, lamenting the fact that she has to have a nap. She's struggling to fall asleep today, and is talking/crying to herself instead. "I wish I could be three again! {sob sob} When I was three I liked quiet time! {sob} Now I'm four and I don't even want to have quiet time! {sob sob sob} Why can't things change in the Robins family?" I wish I had her room bugged. I have a feeling this would be hilarious on video.
Moving on.
Memorial Day Weekend we went to Natalyn's baptism. Jacey was overheard several times that day saying "Just one more year!" I'm glad she's excited for her own baptism next year.
It was a perfectly lovely day - Marie put a beautiful lunch together and the weather cooperated nicely. Natalyn wore a perma-grin all day long.
We spent the rest of the long weekend working on projects around the house and hanging out with our families. We stole away for a minute to the park to fly kites.
Jacey got a little kite for her birthday and we finally got the chance to go fly it. I was impressed - she got it up pretty high!
Calvin enjoyed the view from his stroller. He was pretty fascinated with the kites, actually.
Jacey had a dance festival at school a few days before school let out. Calvin loved the music - he "dances" by putting his arms up in the air and bouncing. It's cute. :)
Perhaps the most eagerly anticipated event of late was the 3rd Bi-Annual Davis Cousins Camp, hosted last week by Grandma Annette. I forgot my camera so the only pictures I have are from my phone, and even then I didn't take very many. But suffice it to say that the week was PACKED with fun.
The pirate theme was right up Londyn's ally.

{From my mom's weekly letter:) We did a pirate theme this year, so we did several treasure hunts, made treasure boxes, pirate’s ships, hats and maps, a big poster, went swimming a couple of times, went to the splash pad, park, “Jump around Utah”, a museum, a nature hike, played games, had a movie night, etc, etc, etc.
The kids had a blast. They always do. I feel like the best part of their summer is over. :(
And of course, Cousins Camp wouldn't be complete without the official song.

My mom is a little bit of a Saint for doing Cousins Camp. But most of you already knew that. The rest of you have not met her yet.
Still to come this summer: A (most of) Robins family trip to St. George this weekend, a family reunion in Aberdeen, an anniversary getaway for Will and I, and field trips with the Driscolls. Lots of fun left to pack into three short months!

I LOVE it....Londyn cracks me up, that is so cute! Your mom is amazing, what a fun tradition for the kid's to do every year!
Looks like you are keeping busy. Your family is darling. I really miss you guys. We drove down your street last Saturday night to see our old house... thought of you guys. Glad to see you are doing well.
Ha! Pirate Londyn is hilarious! Yes, your mom is a saint. I can't wait to see cousins camp after you each have 12 kids. ;) Yeah for an anniversary getaway. Is it 10 years for you guys?! And because I'm super lame with emailing...the birth pictures to music totally made me cry. I'm so bummed my friend was out of town for mine. Also, I had my carseats installed at the hospital and the lady said I could NOT have picked better carseats to fit in the car. Of course I took all the credit. ;)
I am grateful I have your blog to document my life (and my kids') for me. :) Can't wait for field trips to begin this week!
