Calvin's Daily To Do List, @ 10 Months

DSC_9673

7:30ish - Wake up and make cute baby noises in crib.  Try to reach the diaper basket through the crib slats if Mom's been foolish enough to forget to move it.  If successful, slobber on as many diapers as possible until Mom comes in to get me up.

8:00 - Diaper change and get dressed.  Maybe a bath if I managed to blow out my diaper.  (I'm about 50/50 on that.)

8:15 - Breakfast.  Put up with mom spoon feeding me something mushy for a few bites, then insist on something I can feed myself.  Waffles, pancakes, bagel - whatever.  Just as long as I can feed myself, I'm happy.  Wash it down with a sippy cup of milk.

8:30 - Play time.  First I check the dishwasher - that's my favorite.  If it's open, I help unload.  Then I make the rounds through the house, looking for a door that's supposed to be closed but - if I'm lucky - has been left open.  My favorite stops are:  the toilet paper rolls, computer desk cords, laundry baskets, Jacey and Londyn's toy box (there's always something small and tasty to put in my mouth there), my diaper basket, the laundry room, and all the garbage cans.  If all the doors are closed like they're supposed to be, I go to my toy box.  But so far that's only happened once.

10:00 - Run errands with Mom.  I'm too heavy to carry in the carseat now, so unless I'm asleep I get to sit in the cart.  I'm big and grown up.  If I get hungry I chew on the shopping cart.  I usually try to sneak in a short nap while we're in the car.

12:00 - Lunch.  I usually get to eat what the big girls eat for lunch.  Or some baby food.  Although I have less and less patience for baby food these days.

1:00 - Naptime.  I loooove naptime.  I loooove my crib.  I take looooong naps in my crib.  But I'd like to see you TRY to get me to take a nap without my crib.  At church, for instance.  YOU CAN'T DO IT!  That's right, sucka.

4:00 or 5:00 - Wake up.  Unless some big sister forgets to use her inside voice, or slams a door, or a salesman rings the doorbell - then I wake up early and I'm crabby and cranky for the rest of the day.  But when I get my nice long nap I'm cheerful and pleasant and I make cute baby noises and giggles again when I wake up.

5:00 - More playtime.  Jacey plays with me a lot.  I like having her home for summer vacation.  We play fetch or peek-a-boo or we crawl around the furniture in circles.  Londyn plays with me too - she tickles me a lot.  She likes to pick me up and carry me.  I like to push my toy truck around too.  I crawl as fast as I can and push it next to me.  I don't remember being taught to do that - it must just be a natural skill for boys.

6:30 - Dinner.  Dad pulls my high chair right up to the table and I get to eat with the family.  They all look at me a lot during dinner and try to get me to do all of my tricks.  I like dinner because I get a lot of attention.  If I don't get enough attention at dinner I usually growl and make monster noises.  I make monster noises in church too.  Actually, I make all the noises I can in church, and I make them as loud as I can.

7:30 - It's different every night.  Sometimes we have Family Home Evening, sometimes we have baths, sometimes we go for a walk now that it's summertime.  Daddy plays with me most nights after dinner.  He's been giving me walking lessons.  I'm getting better - I took 8 steps yesterday!  Mom was mad.

8:30 - Pajamas, brush teeth (I have six!), scriptures, prayers, bed.    I play in my crib for a while before I fall asleep.  It's kind of an exhausting life, you know.  Then I get ready to do it all again tomorrow.
