October in a nutshell

Our most favorite part of October was our Family Fun Week!  Will needed to take some vacation time or he was going to lose it.  So he took a full week off while the girls were on track break.  He held tennis camp and we just did a lot of hanging out together.  The weather was gorgeous all week and I really hated to see it end.  I really wish we could do this every year!

Oakley LOVES Calvin’s scooter.  I love that she loves to be outside.

The kids look forward to tennis camp every year.  This year Calvin got to join in for mini-lessons at the end of the girls’ lessons.  Next year he’ll be a full participant.

We spent a LOT of time at soccer games this fall.  All three big kids played.  Will coached Londyn’s team this time.  They all did great and all three improved a lot.  Fall is so pretty in Utah – I really love spending our Saturday’s outside at the games.

We carved pumpkins a few nights before Halloween.  It was good timing since all the rest of the uncarved pumpkins were stolen off our porch that night.  :/  The girls designed their faces and did most of the carving themselves.

Jacey was Annabeth Chase (from Percy Jackson).  She did her entire costume on her own, except the dagger that Will made for her.  Londyn was a cowgirl, Calvin was a ninja turtle, and Oakley was “Mickey” (she won’t say Minnie – she insists Minnie’s name is Mickey).  I found myself wanting to talk Calvin into wearing a “real” costume (his is just a hoodie) but he was so happy and excited that I decided to embrace the simplicity and go with it.

I love Oakley's costume. Is it bad I want to dress JJ up as a girl sometimes?
