December

We needed some new pictures for Grandma’s wall, so we snapped some before church.  Only  Oakley’s was taken in December, but I realized I forgot to include the others in October’s post so here they are.

Will’s company Christmas party was a family party held at Provo Beach Resort.  It was fun!  I was impressed that Jacey wanted to try the ropes course.  Will asked me later if I preferred an adult-only fancy dinner, or a family party like this.  I honestly like them both.  I told him I’d love it if they alternated years between the two.

I’m usually pretty annoyed by toys left all over the house.  But this one made me laugh.  Not sure what Calvin had him doing up there in the window, but I assume it was very imaginative.  He is at that age where it’s really fun to eavesdrop on his play to hear all of the adventures his imagination dreams up.

We did a little staycation at Little America again this year – this is quickly becoming one of my favorite traditions.  And I was surprised by how much the kids looked forward to it!  They were counting down days and everything.  Even Calvin was excited, and I didn’t even think he remembered going last year.  We went to Temple Square to see the lights.  It was crowded (there was a choir concert and a Jazz game that night) but it was so warm that I didn’t even mind.  The kids all shed their coats by the end of the night.  We watched a Christmas movie back at the hotel, ate at the breakfast buffet, and then went to see Big Hero 6.  Really fun 24 hours.  The only bad part of this little vacation is that it goes super fast.

Grandma Margaret’s Christmas party keeps getting bigger and bigger.  These are all of her great-grandkids (plus Will and Laurel whose kids wouldn’t be in the picture without them).  I think there’s one great-granddaughter missing.  Love this lady.  Even when Will and I were just dating, she made me feel like part of the family.

Christmas will get its own post, so I’ll let this picture of Mason as the sheep in our nativity serve as a placeholder.

It was a very warm and dry December, but we did squeak out a white Christmas.  We took the kids sledding with the other Robins cousins the day after Christmas.  Calvin was so into it.  He just kept going down and hiking back up over and over again without really even talking to us.  Oakley wasn’t such a fan.  She went down a few times but didn’t love it.  I ended up sitting at the top with her for most of the time.

We rang in the new year with my family but apparently I didn’t take any pictures of that.  Londyn and I weren’t feeling well so it was a long countdown to midnight for us.  But we still played games and ate way too much good food and had a good time.
