Just a few pictures to document our holiday.
The Princess:
The Witch:
The Corn Cob (Version VI - all of my and Marie's babies have been the corn cob for their first Halloween. Although several people mistook him for a caterpillar.)
(The green and yellow costume + flash + indoor lights did super funky things to the color of the photo . . . trust me it's better to just relegate it to B&W)
Halloween was kind of an extended event this year. First of all was Londyn's preschool party on Thursday. Then Jacey's costume parade at school Friday morning, trick-or-treating at Will's work on Friday afternoon, and a party at Grandma Annette's on Friday night. Then neighborhood trick-or-treating on Saturday (yay for living in Utah when Halloween is on a Sunday) then a Robins Halloween party on Saturday night. Ironically, we didn't do a single Halloween-y thing on the actual holiday.
I'm kind of a Halloween bah humbug, I admit it. I don't mind cute Halloween, but beyond that . . . meh. Luckily our families step up and throw parties to make it memorable for our kids.
Probably my favorite part about Halloween is that it ushers in the holiday season for me. I've decided that the Christmas season goes too fast as an adult to wait until after Thanksgiving to start celebrating it. I've started thinking about Thanksgiving as a part of Christmas - that Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Year's are all one big holiday. Don't get me wrong - our tree's not up and I haven't set up my holiday playlist yet, but I'm certainly not upset that the radio stations are playing Christmas music and the stores have out their winter displays. And besides, if I have to start shopping before Thanksgiving (which I do if I want to enjoy December) then I'm going to start celebrating before Thanksgiving too.
What were we talking about? Oh yeah - Halloween.
It was lovely. I heard Jacey say to Londyn "I'm done being a princess every year for Halloween." And Londyn replied "Well I'm not!" Which is good, since we have an abundance of princess paraphernalia at our house. And like I said, I'm all for cute Halloween. So bring on next year's princess!

You crack me up!
Your kids look so cute in their costumes. I agree with the holidays... I totally celebrate them all as ONE big holiday. I wait until the day after Thanksgiving to put up the tree, but I have happily been listening to Christmas music too!
I was scrolling through the pictures and was expecting to see 2 costumes. Surprise, you have 3 kids now. Crazy! :) They all look super cute! And how cute are your parents with their Halloween party?! Such a fun family you have.
Super cute. I wish I had some good pictures this year. The rain sort of put a damper on things!
