Random and disjointed musings

So I'm going to have a baby on Tuesday.  Why oh why oh why I chose to wait until 40 weeks to be induced, instead of taking my Doctor's option of inducing at 39 weeks, I have no idea.  I have contractions on and off all day long, but nothing that seems like it's leading anywhere.

I'm gigantic.  I have no clothes left that fit.

I'm ready.  I've had nothing on my calendar for the past two weeks.  Just "Sit and wait for baby" every. single. day.

I just cleaned my house and I feel like I ran a marathon.  (Not that I would actually know what that feels like.  As if!)

Will is super busy at work.  I wish I could slurp some of his stress from him and take it on myself.

The other day the kitchen table was pushed up against the back door and I was trying to get out to water my tomato plant.  It was a tight squeeze.  Jacey saw my struggle and said "Wow Mom - we're going to have to get a bigger door!"  Nice.

I think that maybe this has been my best pregnancy.  Maybe.  I'm not as swollen as I was with Jacey, though I'm still swollen.  I don't have the constant back pain like I had with Londyn, though I still have a little.  I was sicker in the beginning but that seems like an awfully long time ago.

I have fully embraced the waddle.  He is soooo low, I walk like a cowboy.  A pregnant cowboy.  Bringing my knees together is like trying to force polar magnets to touch.  Trying to sit modestly in a dress for 3 hours through church is hard, to say the least.

Jacey got her letter in the mail yesterday telling her who her teacher will be for 1st grade.  She's excited for school to start.  She's having her last nap-time today.  I tried to explain to her that someday she will want nap-time back, but she doesn't buy it.

Londyn's excited for preschool to start, too.  A couple of months ago she said something about wanting to learn how to write her name.  I said "Londyn I can help you do that."  And she said "No Mom, I want MISS DAWN to teach me how."  Humph.

I ♥ air conditioning.

Baby's room has been set up for months now.  Sometimes I just go in there and sit and enjoy the quiet.  The girls aren't allowed to play in there, so it's the only room in the house that stays clean.

I'm excited to meet this baby.  He has been wanted and loved for a long time.  It makes my mother-heart swell to see Will and the girls getting so excited too.  I'm carrying the physical reality of this new life around with me every day, and have been for 39.5 long weeks now.  But the reality of a new member of the family is really just sinking in with them as they realize how close it is now.  Can't wait to meet him.  Can't wait for them to meet him, too.
