Unmotivated

January, I hate you.

I really, really do.

December, on the other hand, was lovely.  We spent Christmas with my family at my mom and dad's house.  We stuffed ourselves silly on Christmas Eve dinner, had a program and nativity, then stuffed ourselves silly again on party treats.  The kids all hurried off to bed just after Bryan and Alex pulled into town from Denver.  Londyn was up most of the night with the stomach flu.  Luckily it spared her for Christmas Day and she was able to enjoy it with the rest of us.

Unfortunately the stomach bug started up again for Londyn the day after Christmas.

And by the early hours of Monday morning, it started to spread.  First Alex, then Bryan, then me.  By noon we added Will, Nathan and Ky and my mom into the misery.  It was a sight to see.  Poor Dad and Marie.  They were spared the illness but got stuck trying to keep the kids occupied and entertained for the day.  I thought for sure it was food poisoning - I mean how often do 7 otherwise healthy adults drop like flies within hours of each other?  But we never could pinpoint a common food we had all eaten.  So I guess it was Londyn's stomach flu.  She says sorry, everybody.  :(

Despite that lovely aside, we had a fun week following Christmas.  The girls got a sled from Grandma and Grandpa Robins and we were able to try it out a couple of times that week.  We tried ice skating at the little rink in South Jordan - it was super cold and most of the skates hurt the kids' feet, but I was still pretty impressed with how quickly Jacey was getting the hang of it.  Another afternoon we spent bowling.  My mom and dad gave me a little camera to keep in my purse for Christmas - something I've been wanting for a long time.  I tend to leave the camera at home just because mine is kind of a beast, so I'm glad to have something small to capture snapshots with.

All in all, it was a lovely holiday.  I felt bad that Bryan and Alex had to spend their last day here being sick, but it was sure fun to have them here for the holidays.   Will had to work most of the week after Christmas but I stayed up at my folks' with the girls most of the week since they were both off.  Will came up in the evenings and spent the night.

I hate to see December end.  Mostly because it means January starts.  The most horrible month of the year.  The month that will never ever end.  I know it's a mental thing - I tell myself it's horrible and so it's horrible.  But seriously . . . it's horrible.

Bleh.  Curses.

Ahh, poopy sickness. I'm glad you're blogging though! Tom says the EXACT same thing about January. Pure hatred. Do you think maybe it stems from accountant busyness (I know neither did tax, but it still seemed like it was a much busier time)?

I agree that January is the worst month. . . when is February going to get here?
Love all the pictures- Londyn totally looks like she knows what she is doing on that piano!
Also, sorry about the stomach flu. . . is has just gotten to Las Vegas this past week:(
