Well, I blinked and Calvin turned two. Have I mentioned this was a crazy year? It seems like a million years ago that we were celebrating his first birthday, yet at the same time it feels like yesterday.
Calvin, at two:
- is so funny. He makes us laugh non-stop. He loves to be the center of attention. He loves making us laugh, even if it means purposely running into walls or smacking himself in the head.
- loves wrestling with his dad and with Londyn.
- loves visiting cousins and Grandparents.
- learns new words every day. His vocabulary has completely exploded in the past month or two.
- has been very clingy lately. He can be very insistent when he gets in one of his only-mom-will-do moods.
- is still transitioning to the new house. He frequently asks to “go home”. He has also been napping poorly and I wonder if the two are connected.
- wants to go potty all the time. The problem with this is that we’re not potty training. It’s purely entertainment for him to sit on the potty, throw a little toilet paper in the bowl and jump down.
- is a total mimic. He copies everything. Every word, every gesture, every intonation. It’s a little bit hilarious.
- is obsessed with Cars, Toy Story, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and Elmo. (He may have watched a bit too much TV while we worked on the house. Trying to wean him now hasn’t been fun.)
- walks to the school with me 3x a day. He waves and shouts goodbye to the girls so loud that the whole neighborhood can hear him. The crossing guard thinks he’s adorable.
- still won’t go to nursery.
- constantly has filthy feet.
- is by far my pickiest eater. But he does love chicken pot pie. And ice cream.
- still loves trucks, dirt, rocks, and all things boy.
Happy Birthday Calvin!
