Easter Festivities

Began with a preschool Easter party for Jacey.

There was a lot of this going on afterwards:

The project for the day (this was the day before Easter) was the beam under the back deck. The builder messed up and the beam was too small, so they put a bigger one in. Here's Ky holding up the deck while they work on it. I'm not sure why they bothered to rent those jacks.

Easter Sunday we went to early church after the girls found their baskets. The easter bunny brought them each some summer clothes, which they might actually even be able to wear someday if it would quit snowing. (This week is actually supposed to be quite nice.)

After church my folks and Nate went up to Glen & Liz's with us for dinner. We ate, and ate, and then we ate a little more. After dinner we had the annual Robins Family Easter Egg Hunt. Glen explaining this year's rules:

Each year the rules are different. Last year was a variation of a three-legged race, only with shirts. (Two people in one big shirt.) Prior years have been along the same thread. (ie, embarrassing. This is not just a children's egg hunt, in case you were wondering. Adults are required to participate.) I was curious to see how this was going to go down this year, since we had non-Robins witnesses there. But it was the most mild of all Robins Egg Hunts I've participated in. Each kid was assigned 2 adults and only the kids could touch the eggs. And you could only pick up one egg at a time - then return it to your basket on the patio and tag-team the other adult. Well, apparently walking with the kids is too slow for some adults.

This is Will's cousin Todd carrying Jacey, with Uncle Nate waiting to be tagged. Needless to say, by the end all the adults were exhausted and the kids were having a grand old time. But since egg hunts are technically supposed to be for the kids, that's how it should be!

What an awesome way to spice up the rather boring game of egg-hunting. Sounds like a great time!

That actually sounds like a lot of fun. People get so much more creative than we used to be

Okay, this is good....it gives me motivation to finally do my Easter post. Your parent's house looks like it is dang nice. Are they all the way moved in then? Oh, and that sweet little picture of your girls. They are just so pretty and lucky to have a photographer momma who can capture it all.

What a cool way to do Easter egg hunts. They sound a lot more fun than the regular old "go find the hidden eggs." And I also think your parents' house is looking good. You'll have to post some pictures when it's all done.

By the way, it's good to see you on Facebook.
