Officially two

DSC_7507DSC_7492

Even though Londyn's birthday was over a month ago, this week I'm officially declaring her to be 2 years old.  Why?  Because she has learned the "Why?" game.  Everything I say, she responds with "Why?  Why?  Why?"  Every. Thing. I. Say.  Will said, "Doesn't she know the rules of this game?  She's supposed to stop when you finally say 'Because'."  Nope.  Just more "Why?"s.

In other news:

Jacey and I went to the pumpkin patch yesterday with her preschool class for a field trip.  The weather was just perfect - just cold enough to make it feel appropriate to be going to the pumpkin patch.

They had a corn maze there, and in the corners they had signs with corny jokes.  (Ha!)  Jacey repeated this one all day yesterday:  "What do you call a witch at the beach?  A sandwich!"  Followed by hysterical laughter.  Apparently it gets funnier the more times you tell it.

Maybe she told it to Miss Dawn.  (I couldn't get all the kids in the picture - there are 10 in her class total.)

The weather has warmed up considerably since last weekend so I think we are going to try to finish up some should-have-done-this-when-it-was-warm-outside projects this weekend.  Namely, repainting the front door frame and moving some shrubs around in our flower beds.  Our front yard was done by "professional" landscapers when we moved in, but you would never know it.  The grass is lumpy and the shrubs are just thrown down any which way.  So Marie volunteered to help us fix it.  She's got a green thumb, that girl.

Well, I think that's all for today.  Except maybe this - my new favorite picture of Jacey.  I keep going back and forth on her haircut.  I think it is adorable, so I love it.  But I think it makes her look too grown up for me, so I don't love it.  She told me the other day, "You're going to be sad when I turn 5, huh mom.  Cause you only like me little."  I think I'll take her any way I can get her.  But I certainly do like her little.

I LOVE Jaycee's hair too! Do you have to style it everyday? And cute little Miss Londyn. The "why" game sounds like tons of fun. I can hardly wait. :)

I understand the feelings that go along with these sweet little girls... Aizlyn has long hair (I hardly ever leave it down, she hates it in her face), but I have also been debating on cuting it. Jaycee's hair is way to cute...

I love Jacey's hair, too. Do you use a roll brush to do it?

I had to come back to look at Jacey's hair again. And I just realized that I spelled her name wrong in my last comment. Sorry. I can't believe how perfectly stacked it is in the back. That girl is destined to always have a super cute hair-style just like her momma. I remember in high school when you could twist the top half up in a knot and it looked absolutely perfect.

Your girls are so precious! I wish we still had Jaycee in our class - she is too cute for words! On another note, have I asked you what type of camera you have? Your pictures are amazing and you really should go professional. I'm serious.

Jacey has better hair than most adults!! Ridiculously beautiful!!!
I learned that the "why" game is a ploy to get you to keep talking!! She loves to hear you so just throw in a "Londyn" in your conversation every now and then and she'll be good to go!! You hope!!

So fun! That preschool picture with Jacey, Sophie, and Kallie makes me so sad that Caitlin isn't going to school with them. Love all of your pictures, as usual!

We do Jacey's hair once a week, on Sundays. Her hair is dry enough that even on Saturday it's not oily yet. (I'm jealous of that.) It takes about 90 min. to flat-iron so definitely not something I'm willing to do more than once a week. We also use a product in it called Matrix gold heat iron-in control, which helps with her crazy texture. I think it's adorable on Sundays . . . by Friday it's marginal at best.

Rachel - I had forgotten about the knot thing. The people at work used to call me knot head. I don't think I realized at the time that it was an insult. :(

Tenielle - I have a Nikon D50, which I love. Although if somebody threw a D700 my way I wouldn't complain either.

Leah - that makes perfect sense about hearing us talk. She certainly does crave attention, so maybe it's also a way of keeping my attention on her.

Emily - just the other day Jacey wrote a "letter" to Cait, telling her how much she wished she was in her preschool class. We need to have her over to play sometime!
