Do NOT leave a water bottle next to your nearly new laptop on the kitchen table, not matter how "almost empty" it seems. Your 2-year-old will dump it all over your keyboard and then smear it around like finger paint. And upon returning to the kitchen you will freak out, practically throwing your daughter across the room in an effort to get to said nearly new laptop with an armload of paper towels. You will find water dripping out the side of the keyboard when you tip it sideways and this dripping will continue for at least 5 minutes. You will text your husband while he is in the middle of a planning meeting which he flew to Houston for, panicking and cursing in your head (sorry mom). You will sweat bullets for the next 48 hours, waiting for it to dry out, wondering how in the world you are going to find the money to replace it. Because you will convince yourself that it is totally fried and gone forever, since it was on when the water got dumped and there was weird stuff going on as you shut it down in a panic. You will curse the Acer engineers who so stupidly couldn't figure out a way to make computers waterproof. You will bemoan all of the lost data and pictures you foolishly hadn't backed up. And when you finally put it back together two days later and try to turn it on, you won't really be hoping for much because you will be so 100% sure that it is ruined.
But you will be wrong.
It will boot up, it will work completely normally, and you will thank your lucky stars and bless the names of Acer engineers everywhere.
And you will never, ever, use your computer in the kitchen again.
The End.

I guess I should move my water bottle right away from my laptop right now!!
I am very happy to hear that everything turned out ok!!
Ahh, ahh, ahh! I'm so glad it didn't ruin it. I've definitely heard stories about it ruining people's laptop. Lucky lady! This reminds me that I have still never backed up a single picture of Reese. I'm retarded and definitely need to get on that right away.
P.S. I heard a rumor about your parents. Are you so excited?!
Oh my goodness! I would have been freaking out! I'm so glad it turned out ok. (what a nightmare that would have been)
Very scary. OUr computer has been upstairs since the endo fo Feb. and now that the basement is almost done I cannot wait until we can move it downstairs. Abby did ruin one keyboard by spilling apple juice on it, but luckily, besides Tyler messing with ITunes nothing else has gone askew.
It would have been horrible to loose everything, so glad you didn't.
I think I should also move the water bottle away. Kenady actually did spill water by it but it went all over my phone instead!
It is so good to see all your family. Since the Davis' dont plan any family outings I was wondering if maybe next year we could join you on one of your smaller outings, you know so we wouldnt impose quite as much! I will have to talk to your mom. Ur family is so cool and I would love to stay in touch with you guys!
AND one more thing you look so awesome, what the heck r u doing? I need something, seriously it looks like u should put on some weight! I wish u were coming for the 24th!
I don't think there's a label big enough to post that warning on a laptop.
I've been wanting to back up my pictures on my computer for a while. I think I will get right on that. I'm so glad your computer is okay. I seem to always get water on my cell phones, and those things don't seem to come back from water damage. I'm glad a computer is more resilient.
So your parents are moving now too? How sad it this. . . Rachel, don't tell me that your parents are moving too!!! I think my parents will be the only ones
left:(
However, that will be really fun for all of you up there. I'm sure they felt like they were missing out on a lot of things- good for them!
Yes, you may post some of the pictures on your blog. I would love to see some of them too.
